Water from Yamuna river will quench thirst of Jhujnhunu district, claimed chief minister Vasundhara Raje on Monday and added that pipelines will be laid instead of canal to bring water under the project. “The government is in constant touch with Union water resources ministry to consider option of laying pipelines in place of canal to bring water from Yamuna,” Raje told the locals during the ‘CM Jan Samwad programme’ held at a private school. “We made efforts to supply water to Jhunjhunu rising above the politics. The rest will also be covered and get water from the canal as Detailed project report (DPR) is being drafted for this,” Raje said. She also said that her government plans to set up a state sports academy in Jhunjhunu on the line of NIS Patiala.
