He went on to praise Kevin, stating that he was a 'real singer' whom he thinks could 'win it'. However, in a shock move, Simon went against his wishes and instead insisted that he continue, joking that he didn't want to get on the wrong side of him. Nicole Scherzinger, who mentors Vinnie, chose to save him, while Louis Walsh opted to protect his act Kevin. With that, Kevin was eliminated from the competition, leaving both him and Vinnie floored by the turn of events.
