Writing contest boosts confidence in Rosehill Intermediate student authorTARANNUM SHAIKH / STUFF Rosehill Intermediate School teacher Hannah Elliott with winning student author Hayley Fergusson. A tale about a mother owl teaching her owlet to fly has earned a Rosehill Intermediate School student a place in Barfoot and Thompson's book Triumphs, Twists and Tasty Treats. The best stories were then published in a book that is now on sale on the Young Authors Challenge website. Hayley's teacher Hannah Elliott says the proceeds from the sales go to Starship Hospital's Magic of Reading programme. It's such a lovely story in the sense that it was this baby owl that really, really didn't want to fly and mama owl was pretty much making him.
