A discussion in memory of slain writer and publisher Shahjahan Bachchu was held at East Kakaldi in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj on Tuesday Dhaka Tribune'Bachchu was a poet of free thought. He was killed by fanatic fundamentalists but his thoughts will not die'The first death anniversary of progressive writer and publisher Shahjahan Bacchu was observed on Tuesday. Lutfa Akhter, wife of Shahjahan Bachchu presided over the program at East Kakaldi in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj, where relatives, well-wishers, and associates were present. Bachchu was a former general secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Munshiganj unit, and the owner of Bishakha Publication. CPB Munshiganj unit President SM Kamal said: "We are still awaiting the trial of Shahjahan Bachchu’s murder."
