Petitioner Yunus Ali Akond yesterday sent Food Minister Qamrul Islam and Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque legal notices seeking explanations within 24 hours on the issue. He also notified them of filing writ petitions if the notices were not answered. In the writ filed with the High Court on Monday, Yunus Ali Akond sought that the court orders ministers Qamrul Islam and AKM Mozammel Haque to explain why they are still in office after the court’s judgment. On March 8, the Supreme Court ordered the duo to appear before it by March 15 in connection with their reactions to the remarks of Chief Justice SK Sinha. On 14 March, Qamrul Islam and Mozammel Huq offered unconditional apology to the court for their remarks.
