World's heaviest woman arrives in India, to undergo bariatric surgery at Mumbai's Saifee Hospital


Eman Ahmed, who weighs about 500 kg, and arrives from Egypt on Saturday, will undergo a bariatric surgery at Mumbai's Saifee HospitalEman Ahmed, 36, who is believed to be the world's heaviest woman, left Alexandria in Egypt on Friday with her sister Shaimaa Ahmed and a team of doctors to undergo an operation in India. She will be operated by Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, a leading bariatric surgeon, and his team of doctors. Dr Lakdawala and his team were treating Eman for around three months in Egypt. Eman Ahmed, who weighs about 500 kg, arrived from Egypt on Saturday. Her condition is being watched by Dr Aparna Govil Bhasker, Head of Department of Bariatric surgery at Saifee Hospital and Dr Kamlesh Bohra, Senior Intensivist, Department of Critical & Intensive Care.
