Just hours after becoming President of the United States of America, Joe Biden signed an order for the US to re-engage with the World Health Organisation. Ten of the executive orders Biden signed reverse Trump's policies, and are aimed at jump-starting his national Covid-19 strategy, including increasing vaccinations and testing, and increasing the use of masks. Biden's re-engagement with the WHO has been welcomed by director general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. In the WHO briefing, the director general announce that COVAX had signed an agreement with Pfizer/BioNTech for up to 40 million doses of its vaccine.
