A woman was saved from sinking mud by Auckland police officers who crawled through the sludge to rescue her. A police spokeswoman said on arrival police located the woman, who was distressed and had became stuck in mud. Officers ran into the mud to rescue her but became stuck also, the spokeswoman said. Two police officers got covered in mud trying to save a woman in distress on Friday night. "Once everyone was out of the mud, police took the woman to hospital to be checked over due to concerns about hypothermia," the police spokeswoman said.
