Take a journey on the Pinnacles walk to the most popular DOC hut in the country. The return trip will take about eight hours, but the best option is to stay overnight near the summit. If, though, you’re still in the zone, consider biking the Hauraki Rail Trail, with its excitingly creepy long tunnel. If it’s the sunrise/sunset you’re keen to see, they are of course more conveniently timed during the cooler months.
