Claire Burney, 36, was found to have several wraps of cocaine in her possession when police conducted a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act on April 23. Pamela Fee, prosecuting at Workington Magistrates’ Court, said the defendant told police the drugs were for her own personal use. Burney confirmed she had been cocaine dependent for the last 12 months. She said she ‘individually wraps’ the cocaine to ensure how much she is using. Burney, of Newlands Lane, Workington, pleaded guilty to possessing a Class A drug.
