Kibet, accused of defying court orders to support his two children, has gone into hiding following a court summons. Despite a warrant of arrest, he has managed to avoid appearing in court, prompting questions about his ability to evade legal consequences. Jeruto’s lawyer, Steve Biko, informed the court that efforts to extend arrest orders have been hampered by difficulties locating Kibet. Makenzi and 29 others are charged with the murder of 191 children inside the Shakahola forest. According to witnesses, the house's manager had locked the 14-year-old girl inside while she was still asleep.
