Worker Fatally Shoots 2 and Injures One at Illinois Warehouse, Officials Say

Two workers at a coffee dispenser warehouse in Springfield, Ill., were fatally shot and another critically wounded after a co-worker opened fire on Friday morning, the authorities said. The gunman fled and was found dead in his vehicle more than two hours later, the Springfield police chief, Kenny Winslow, said at a news conference. The chief identified the gunman as Michael L. Collins, 48, who was employed at the warehouse, which is run by Bunn-O-Matic. He said Mr. Collins had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and that two handguns were found in his vehicle in Morgan County, which is about 35 miles west of Springfield. The authorities said at a Friday evening news conference that they were still investigating a motive for the shooting, which was reported a little after 11 a.m. local time.
