Supreme Court Rejects Bid for Texas Voters Afraid of Coronavirus to Cast Absentee Ballots


The Supreme Court on Friday rejected an emergency appeal that sought permission for voters in Texas to cast absentee ballots in this year’s elections if they feared coronavirus risks from voting in person. The high court declined to stay the effect of an appeals court ruling that allowed Texas to maintain its voting rules that permit no-excuse absentee voting only for people age 65 or older.
