Work starts on $40 million new Sudima HotelAn artist's impression of the new Sudima Hotel complex, including offices and shops, to be built on the corner of Victoria and Salisbury streets in central Christchurch. Groundworks have begun on the site of a $40 million central Christchurch complex that will include offices, shops, restaurants and a five-star Sudima Hotel. The developers originally planned to build a hotel for hotel chain Accor under its Sebel label, but a deal was done with the Sudima chain instead. A buyer for the finished complex is being sought. Sudima already owns a hotel at Christchurch Airport, plus three others at Auckland Airport, Hamilton, and Rotorua.
