The statue of unity (SoU), dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel-the sculptor of united India-is being constructed at a faster pace than that of the world’s tallest building at present-the Burj Khalifa also known as Burj Dubai. While the 985 metre-building at a rate of construction of 3.18 metre per week took five years for completion, the Iron Man’s 182 metre-tall statue is being constructed at a rate of 4.5 metre per week. It would be double the height of world’s tallest statue at present- Statue of Liberty- in the USA. Member of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust (SVPRET) and chairman in Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited, SS Rathore, said, “The construction is going on at a fast pace. It has reached 103.5 metre-level at a speed of 4.5 metre per week.
