Frantic shoppers have been filmed sprinting in and out of a Woolworths store to stash tins of baby formula in small trolleys hidden outside. In a bid to avoid shoppers buying bulk amounts of baby formula to sell in China at exorbitant rates, Woolworths and Coles have imposed a two-tin limit on customers. The Instagram user panned around the entrance to the shopping centre to show a woman sprinting into the building with shopping bags in her hand. The baby formula racket, where buyer networks, also known as daigous, buy the infant formula in bulk and sell it at inflated prices in China has become increasingly popular in the past year. The scheme became so overwhelming for supermarket supply chains that Woolworths limited formula purchases to two per person.
