With more and more women joining the workforce, it is up to us as a nation to take advantage of the situation. An increase in the number of women being part of the labour force will inevitably boost our GDP, bringing us closer to becoming a developing nation. Between 1999 and 2013, the number of women participating in the labour force has seen remarkable increase, with almost a 190% rise for women aged 20-29, and a 100% rise amongst women aged between 30 and 49. The women in our workforce have continued to boost our economy and it is about time that policy-makers took that into account. A more inclusive society, one which allows women to be free, independent, and financially stable, will only benefit our nation in the long run.
