more-inTaking cognizance of reports on the alleged assault on Kudumbasree members at Kizhakkambalam during a training session, the Kerala State Women’s Commission (KSWC) has registered a case. According to the case, a group of people led by the Kizhakkambalam panchayat president allegedly assaulted the women including the chairperson of the Community Development Society. Meanwhile, police sources hinted at more arrests in the case after a protest march by various political parties against the Kizhakkambalam panchayat council on Thursday evening. Clashes broke out during the training session the other day when some members of the CDS allegedly forced their way into the programme venue. Soon after, a gang comprising members of some political outfits and CDS assaulted the returning officer as well as the elected representatives of Kizhakkambalam panchayat.
