President of the United States, Donald Trump, has said that Morocco stands out as “one of the most distinguished models” of the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative. “Morocco is one of the most distinguished models of the Women’s Global Development & Prosperity Initiative (W-GDP)”, President Donald Trump said, in a message made public on the first anniversary of W-GDP, launched in February 2019. President Trump highlighted the exceptional efforts made by Morocco to empower women and the legal reforms adopted by the Kingdom regarding the structure and administration of communal lands, to promote women’s economic independence and restore their rights to land and property. President Trump also hailed the efforts made by Côte d’Ivoire in this regard. These reforms have served the interests of women and further consolidated their empowerment in the Kingdom, she said.
