A notice on her shop door incorrectly cites the Magna Carta in her defence, saying in capital letters: "I do not consent." In the video, Ms Quinn can be seen speaking to a council officer who is standing outside the salon entrance. The salon owner refused to open the door tells the council officer: "You're speaking to my fictitious character. Ms Quinn tells the officer to include a return address on any paperwork as she would be sending it straight back. Ms Quinn says: "Under common law, operating my business is not breaking the law."
