The collision happened near Ruakiwi Rd and Collingwood St shortly before 8am on Tuesday. A 20-year-old woman is stable on a ward after being hit by a car in central Hamilton. She was rushed to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition after the collision on Ruakiwi Rd on Tuesday morning. A Waikato DHB spokeswoman confirmed the woman was stable on Wednesday morning. Road policing Senior Sergeant Pete van de Wetering said the woman took a "nasty fall" following the collision, but was lucky to have avoided life-threatening injuries.
