A woman was grabbed from behind as she walked through the Timaru Botanic Gardens early on Monday morning. A woman made a dash for Timaru Hospital after she was grabbed from behind early on Monday morning. Sergeant Grant Lord, of Timaru, said the woman had been grabbed by the shoulders as she walked through the Timaru Botanic Gardens about 6.42am on Monday. Lord said she managed to get away and made it to Timaru Hospital where authorities were alerted. He said there no further details were available at this stage.
