Photo: Richard DavisonA burn-off which got out of control near Lawrence last night has been contained. The fire began yesterday afternoon near Roughan Rd, south-west of Lawrence towards Tuapeka Flat. Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Andrew Norris said this morning crews managed to contain the fire last night. The Wakari Voluntary Rural Fire Force remained on scene today, along with staff from City Forests, dampening down hot spots, he said.
