He promised to find her husband, and in return, she paid him ₹2,000 and bought him a high-end smartphone. The accused — under the pretext of showing her something important — took her to a eucalyptus grove where he allegedly raped her at knifepoint. The victim managed to reach home, narrated the incident to her family and sought medical help before filing a complaint. The Maratahalli police based on her complaint, set out on a manhunt for the accused who is on the run.
