KOTA KINABALU: A pedestrian was killed when a car slammed into her while she was crossing the Jalan Lintas stretch near here this morning. In the 4am incident, the 28-year-old woman was walking towards Metro town when a car crashed into her. District police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Chandra said the woman suffered serious head injuries from the impact and was pronounced dead by medical personnel from Queen Elizabeth Hospital. “The cause of death has yet to be ascertained and the body has been sent for post-mortem. "Checks showed he was not drunk," he said adding that initial investigation showed that the woman was careless while crossing the road.
