Penang gets software from UN to detect dengue cases in the state

GEORGE TOWN: Penang has a new method to detect dengue cases using a modern software to identify possible hot spots in the state. State Health Department director Datuk Dr M Sukumar said the state government had purchased the software from the United Nations. "From there, the health department will do the necessary to curb the outbreak," he told reporters at Penang Hill today. "The number of cases has declined, but the number of deaths is still worrying," he during his speech at the "Towards the Penang Hill Non-smoking Zone Gazettement" programme at Penang Hill here today. On an unrelated matter, Lim said Penang Hill would be gazetted as a non-smoking zone soon.
