Said to hail from Kumasi New Town, the woman, whose name has been given as Rukaiya, went to the washroom to clean herself but “slipped and fell in the process”. According to a release from the Communications Directorate of the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG), Rukaiya had seen off her relative, who was part of the ninth flight to Mecca from Ghana. She was pronounced dead by medical officers at the Village after examination. Relatives were on hand to convey the body to Kumasi for Jaanazah ahead of burial scheduled for late Sunday.
