A woman has been charged with attempted murder after a knife attack on a 7-year-old boy in Cairns, in Queensland. Police say a 26-year-old woman attacked the child at a Woree home last month. He was saved when a second woman who was at the property disarmed her and fled with the boy to a neighbour's home. The boy suffered a cut to his chest and has since been released from hospital. On Thursday police said they had charged the woman with attempted murder and attempted assault occasioning bodily harm.
