A woman whose car was speared by a fence post in a rest home driveway crash has admitted she had been drinking alcohol all morning. Gwenda Meryl Abbott, 74, was driving her BMW up the shared driveway of the Seaview Rest Home in Picton about noon on September 14. SUPPLIED A crane was used to remove the car off the ledge, after the fence post was sawn off and removed from the windscreen. "If you're caught drink-driving again you'll come back as a third-or-subsequent drink-driver, and the maximum penalty is ramped up," Judge Russell said.
