The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas sold in Massachusetts this week is $3.05, up a penny from last week, according to AAA Northeast. This week's average price is 3 cents higher than it was a month ago ($3.02), and 89 cents higher than it was a year ago ($2.16). Massachusetts’ average gas price is 10 cents lower than the national average. “Motorists can expect price fluctuations leading into Labor Day weekend due to Hurricane Ida," said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast's director of public affairs, in a statement. The least expensive price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas sold in MetroWest is $2.85 at Discount Gas in downtown Marlborough, according to gasbuddy.com.
