While the post-mortem report is still awaited, sources at RIMS mortuary said Shiv died between 1am and 2am. Now, that gave police more than a six-hour window to act on the email, which investigations have revealed was sent from a cyber café in Dhurwa. But, senior officers (the mail was sent to the DGP, IG-organised crime, DIG, Ranchi SSP and city SP) insist that they did not check their mails on Wednesday evening. However, none of the officers could say convincingly why the youth would fake an abduction in the first place. He also denied having signed any police document where Shiv said he was an IB officer training in Delhi.
