ALLAHABAD: UP health minister Siddharth Nath Singh said on Monday that a committee would probe whether disruption in oxygen supply at Baba Raghav Das Medical College and Hospital in Gorakhpur was due to any 'commission-khori' (kickbacks). "There are talks of authorities delaying payments to the supplier of oxygen cylinders as they were not receiving kickbacks. We will investigate the issue and the role of the dealer, buyer and the seller," Singh said.The minister said chief secretary Rajiv Kumar would head the committee that would probe the causes of disruption of oxygen supply, if any. "I was explaining about the seriousness of Japanese Encephalitis by comparing the figure with that of previous year but it was misinterpreted as a reason for the deaths. "He said cases of Japanese Encephalitis have dropped by 8% from that of last year.
