Over the past few years, Taylor Swift fans have been forced to accept the fact that the singer’s music is largely unavailable on Spotify, the world’s most popular streaming platform. Now there is a glimmer of hope that Swift may come around and change her mind, thanks to a drastic shift in policy by the Swedish streaming site. Swift shook the music industry a few years back when she opted not to upload her 1989 album to Spotify, explaining her reasoning in a Washington Post op-ed that made the rounds online. It portrayed the streaming music titan as the villain to the good girl persona the singer has carefully curated over the years. Up until now, Spotify had always been against this policy, claiming that everybody with any type of account would be able to listen to anything.
