This was his first career game against Toronto, which has the fourth-best offense in the league, but Kahkonen wasn't tested early. On the next shift, Toronto answered when Matthews scored off the rush for his 35th goal. That was the beginning of more consistent play in the Wild's zone, and Toronto eventually capitalized on the shift.
