Wikileaks has recently released a report hinting that India's Aadhaar data might have been compromised. The report, released Thursday, claims that CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) is using tools that have been developed by Cross Match, a US-based technology provider for cyber spying. Incidentally, UIDAI also uses technology provided by Cross Match Technologies to collect biometric details. The report states that "Cross Match was one of the first suppliers of biometric devices certified by UIDAI for Aadhaar program. Aadhaar data is safely encrypted and is not accessible to any other agency," the report quoted official sources as saying.
