In a dramatic turn of events, Deputy General Secretary of AIADMK, TTV Dinakaran, has sacked Edapaddi Palanisamy from the post of District Secretary of Salem. Before EPS, TTV had also sacked Dindigul Srinivasan, RB Udhayakumar, KC Veeramani and MR Vijayabhaskar who are ministers in EPS cabinet. As per the party norms, the general secretary of the party can only be removed by calling for a General Council meet, and create a new amendment. But, as of now there is no rule to evict someone elected as general secretary of the party who holds absolute power. Dinakaran's current move is a counter measure against EPS, if the latter wishes to call for the general council.
