The wife of journalist Prashant Kanojia, who was arrested on Saturday for sharing a post on Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, moved the Supreme Court on Monday. Prashant Kanojia last week shared a video of a Kanpur-based woman making allegations against Adityanath. He was picked up from his Delhi home on Saturday morning and sent to jail in the evening. On Sunday, police added fresh charges against Prashant Kanojia. The Editors Guild of India has criticised the arrest as “authoritarian misuse of laws”.
