Why RBI should ignore calls for a rate cut

Calls for reducing interest rates had started even before the economic growth numbers were released. Thus, there is no compelling reason for the central bank to reduce rates when inflationary risks loom. The recent reduction in GST rates will show up in inflation numbers with a lag. But the reduction in GST rates has added an element of uncertainty.
