GettyIt was only four years ago that a 15-year-old Joao Felix was allowed to leave FC Porto because they thought he was not big enough to make it. Even though he only made his debut for Benfica at the start of this season in August 2018, Felix is now estimated to be worth around £100 million. After only eight appearances for Benfica this season, Felix signed a new contract until 2023 with a release clause set at an incredible €120 Euros (£105 million). GettyIt seems a rather fanciful, almost silly amount, but as we approach the summer transfer market some of these watching clubs are seriously considering activating Felix’s clause. In his first season in the Benfica first team, Felix has scored 18 goals, including one in the Lisbon derby last August.
