Dear Liz,I believe in people but I also believe that when someone takes a job, they should take it seriously. I put two of them on probation and I would put the third person on probation too but HR says "No, you can't. They make it extremely hard for me to staff my department with capable and enthusiastic people. I have no idea how long I'm expected to work with these three problem employees before I can terminate them. Why is HR keeping me from managing my department the way I want to?
