During the 1960s, the Sugar Research Foundation sponsored a report that cast doubt on multiple studies linking sugar to heart disease. This experience taught me to question a lot of the assumptions I had about the products my family was consuming. Continually questioning the status quo is a common trait of successful entrepreneurs. After I suffered from a series of skin complaints, I discovered that oxybenzone – a common ingredient in sunscreens – could be the problem. That means always asking whether the things we put in and on our bodies are actually good for us.
