Nurul Haque Nur, one of the key leaders of quota reform movement, has been elected vice-president (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) in Monday’s elections. During the Ducsu polls, quota reformists announced 17 candidates out of 25 posts in the Ducsu polls. The movement for quota reform began in February last year after students and job seekers demanded the quota be reduced from 56% to 10%. Police in April picked up three leaders of the movement, including Nur, for questioning and released them shortly.
