Rain started to fall yet again up the mountain as the qualifying session started, so the emphasis during the 40-minute window quickly changed to post a fast time early, rather than towards the end of it. "It was a lot harder than last year, because we were rolling out and smashing it out in one session," McLaughlin said. "We don't have to worry about having a qualifying car now," Heimgartner said.
