"It takes time to compile a clean register because the data from the registrar of deaths, the recent mass voter registration and that from the continuous voter registration exercise must be included." Last week, members of the National Assembly Justice and Legal Affairs Committee directed the commission to present the principal voter register next week. In compiling the register, the IEBC is required to integrate, migrate and upload data on the 14 million Kenyans who registered for the last election, from the biometric voter registration kits to the electronic voter identification devices. Petitioner Barasa Nyukuri last week requested the team chaired by Ainabkoi MP Samuel Chepkong'a, to ensure the IEBC produces the vital document.
