It is usually a matter of how observant one is to be able to tell early enough that there may be a blood clot developing in the limbs. A blood clot is no more than a clump of blood and protein within your bloodstream. As healing takes place, the clot slowly dissolves and restores the normal flow of blood and oxygen supply to the affected tissues. A blood clot such as any of these forming in the lung can cause the features seen in pulmonary embolism from which many people in our country do not recover. The presence of such a clot in the kidney can lead to blood in the urine and this is more often seen in children.
