Elementary schools and high schools in Quebec may have to close their doors if cases of COVID-19 multiply inside the establishments, Radio-Canada has confirmed. Education Minister Jean-François Roberge said in June attendance will be mandatory for all elementary and high school students, with physical distancing measures in place. Under Quebec's rules announced earlier this summer, the government exempts elementary and high school students from wearing masks. The Quebec government closed elementary and high schools across the province in March when the pandemic began. High schools remained closed through the end of the school year, while elementary classes outside the Montreal area reopened in May.
