While in-person hearings are resuming across northeastern Ontario, justice during the pandemic is still riddled with problems. Courts in Sudbury are holding many more trials virtually and some see it as a long overdue modernizing of the justice system. She's also had a preliminary hearing for a murder next month move suddenly to Sudbury when the Elliot Lake courthouse wouldn't be opening. "Justice is being delivered, but I'm not sure justice is being delivered effectively." The northeast has yet to stage a jury trial and it's thought to be the next big test for the pandemic justice system.
