GettyTwo indie comic book publishers, Lion Forge Comics and Oni Press, are merging, the New York Times reported yesterday. It's not surprising that the merger is already creating layoffs amid the restructuring (Lion Forge had already laid off 12 employees in November 2018). "In a good month, these two companies combined make up just 1% market share at comic book shops. "Licensing has sustained and supported comic book publishing from the medium's earliest days, back in the 1940s.
