Ms Jumwa (ODM) and Mr Cheruiyot (Jubilee) have been cited for openly going against their party positions in Parliament. DUE PROCESSMs Jumwa is accused of supporting Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid against her party’s position, therefore contravening the Political Parties Act. The removal of PSC members who are MPs has in the past been a difficult affair, as their term only ended when they ceased being MPs. Therefore, a petition supported by 88 MPs in the National Assembly and 17 senators in the Senate would sail through. If both Houses pass the motion in the same form, the member of the Commission shall stand removed.
