Western schools post sterling performanceNational public schools emerged top in Western region in this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.Friends School Kamusinga and Chavakali High led the pack with Lugulu, Bunyore Girls and Booker Academy Mumias, a private school also posting sterling performance. Milton Omondi from Kamusinga obtained grade A (plain) of 85 points to secure a slot among top 100candidates nationally. Conspicuously missing was Chebuyusi High School which surprised many in last year’s KCSE finishing second in Western behind Kamusinga and was ranked 16th nationally. School Principal Joseph Were attributed the sterling results to sheer hard work of both the students and teachers.
